For children, discovering a place of worship, an historic building or town through art, artefacts and social history can be inspiring. Trails for people living with dementia have been designed to evoke memories and prompt conversation with family or carers.

Trails for Children

Trails of Discovery are for children aged 8 to 12 years old and guides them around a place of worship or historic building looking at art, artefacts, architecture and history. A corresponding answer sheet is provided for accompanying adults. Our Children's Trails prompt young people to enjoy the stories behind their local landmarks.

Town Trails

The aim is to encourage children to explore an area looking at art, architecture and local history, broadening their knowledge and providing an enjoyable experience. This type of trail does not have an answer sheet, all of the answers can be found by looking at information en route.

Memory Trails

These trails are for people living with dementia and have been created with the help of Psychiatric and Dementia professionals, The trail takes the person living with dementia and their family or carer around a church or building looking and touching objects, evoking memories and prompting conversation.
